Atlas Obscura – December 13th, 2017

Back in November we had the privilege of hosting the wonderful Sarah Laskow from Atlas Obscura. Sarah came all the way from the USA to our Derbyshire orchard, and spent a somewhat grey and damp day interviewing Gavin, Ed, and Chris. The result is one of our favourite pieces yet – an incredibly well-written and thought provoking piece, that covers not only Full Grown, but tree-shaping in general.

Our personal favourite quote – “The oldest tree in the world, a bristlecone pine in the California mountains, is 5,000 years old. To reshape the world means believing in the promise of sweeping, far-sighted plans, and understanding that two millennia might only be half a lifetime. It means thinking in tree time.”.

You can check it out here. Thanks to Sarah, and to everybody at Atlas Obscura!
