Dining Chair

The ultimate goal for almost anybody who shapes trees, the first of these Dining Chairs was begun in 2012, and they have been lovingly cared for and subtly refined from that day. Soon it will be time for our first chair harvest.

There are two ways to acquire a grown dining chair…

A) By deposit, to secure one of the pieces from a scheduled harvest – estimated 2022-23

B) Commissioning a piece to be grown specifically for you – chairs take  7-9 years to grow and another year to season. We are now fully booked up to 2028.  Delivery if ordered this year is estimated 2027-29.

The photos shown on this page are of our prototype “Edwardes Chair”. Grown for 5 years out of willow, which is 4 years less than our lengthiest estimate, this chair is much thinner than our actual finished pieces will be. Whereas the average branch thickness on the seat of the “Edwardes Chair” is 10mm, the thickness of the finished branches will be at least 30mm.
