Dining Chair

The ultimate goal for almost anybody who shapes trees, the first of these Dining Chairs was begun in 2012, and they have been lovingly cared for and subtly refined from that day. Soon it will be time for our first chair harvest.

Commission a piece. The orders for commissioned chairs are now booked up to 2030 and start at £10,000 GBP with shipping extra.

($12,500 USD or €11,300 until end of September 2019)

Our first ready for sale chairs and lamps are still growing and are estimated to be harvested for 2022-23. Sign up for the waiting list and we’ll let you know when products are released.

Other pieces are commissionable – please enquire through commissions@fullgrown.co.uk

What can I expect?

In a nutshell –  to join our story through craft, time and nature for an experience of unique delayed gratification.  Be part of exciting new mission to collaborate with nature and importantly have the remarkable tale of having a unique chair lovingly growing for you in our Furniture Orchard in the rolling green hills of England’s Peak District.

It will, of course, take time. We’ll  keep you up to date as your tree grows, invite you for a full tour of the Furniture Orchard and you’ll receive the occasional surprise in the post…

The photos shown on this page are of our prototype “Edwardes Chair”. Grown for 5 years out of willow, which is 4 years less than our lengthiest estimate, this chair is much thinner than our actual finished pieces will be. Whereas the average branch thickness on the seat of the “Edwardes Chair” is 10mm, the thickness of the finished branches will be at least 30mm.

Available in hazel, sycamore, and apple, displaying a beautiful range of colours across the board. The different woods also have interesting features, sycamore being antiseptic, for example. Please do contact us if you have any specific wishes concerning wood.

Approximate outer dimensions: H100cm, W65cm, D65cm (H40”, W25”, D25”), but if you have a specific request concerning size, please do contact us and we can advise.

Hand finished in our workshop. All exterior faces are sanded to an incredibly smooth finish, the bark is left on the internal faces, and the whole chair is oiled with a high quality hard-wax oil.
