Design Museum of Barcelona – Makea Tu Vida – Spain, November 2016

We were contacted recently by Mirea Juan from Makea Tu Vida, a Spanish-based art collective focussed on showing the benefits of reversing throwaway culture. She asked us whether we could send along some grown pieces for REHOGAR, an exhibition “centered in open practices around Design, that pose modifications in actual consumer habits, that are capable of generating knowledge and distributed economy and that explore ways to social and environmental sustainability though best use of resources”. So of course, we said yes! This is it’s 8th incarnation, so we’re really pleased to have been asked.

We’ve sent our Willow Chair Prototype #2, along with the Wiltshire chair, who is now no stranger to European touring. The exhibit is on right now, and runs till the 4th of December 2016 at the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona (Design Museum of Barcelona). So if you do happen to be in the area, if you are following us from Spain and want a firsthand view, or if you really fancy a trip to Barcelona, go along and have a look!

Our Spanish intern Nelson is particularly excited. He was far too busy to come over this year, but his village is situated just outside Barcelona, meaning that he gets to see something he worked on sooner than he thought!

Check out Makea Tu Vida here for all sorts of interesting ideas for design and reuse.
